Well, this week's Photo Quest works well for us! Especially since last Sunday, May 18th, we went to a wedding held at St. George's Orthodox Church in Pharr, Texas. Rosa, our 12 year old daughter, took photos for us (for the church). They were all taken on her new Canon EOS Rebel Digital Camera. It was an afternoon wedding, and the lighting was all natural (from the windows and candles lit in the church). So, I will pick out a few of her best and share them for this week's Quest # 16 entries. Rosa did not know about the "Photo Quest" when these were taken; she just did what she does when she has the camera in her charge. The entire set is on our Flickr site at:

1) Above: The table used during the wedding services. It holds the Gospel, the Wedding Crowns, The Cross, the Three Candles, the Chalice (Common Cup) and an icon of the Wedding at Canna - the setting of Christ's first miracle.
2) Above: Detail of Chalice - or Common Cup - using in the marriage service. I love the reflections in the cup!
3) Above: The Bride in the background; the Wedding Candle in the foreground. I liked the effect of this one.
4) Above: The Bride venerating (kissing) the icon of the Theotokos (Mother of God) on the Wedding Crown.
5) Above: The Groomsman and Brides Maid hold the Wedding Crowns, the Crowns of Martyrdom, over the heads of the Bride and Groom.

8) Above: "Rejoice, O Isaiah!" - The wedding party, led by the Priest, processes around the wedding table three times, as the "Dance of Isaiah" is sung by the Choir.
